One of the best e-ink slates is finally getting an upgrade. reMarkable’s third-generation tablet is the first tablet with the ‘Pro’ name, but that’s appropriate. The Paper Pro has a bigger display and, most importantly, a color screen. It’s an e-paper slate with a stylus (or keyboard), so you can read, write, or edit your documents.
I’ll always be fascinated by e-ink devices, and color is a great addition. The new Paper Pro also has a different look and feel, unlike any other tablet. The edge band is sharp, but still comfortable to hold. It’s also the first reMarkable with a frontlight – which eliminates another annoyance of reMarkable owners over the last few years. The reMarkable Paper Pro is available to order today from the company’s website for $579 with the standard marker stylus.
The GoPro Hero 13’s biggest upgrades are on its exterior
With the $400 Hero 13 Black, the company is making its action camera even better, with more versatility and features that are meant for high-end users who’ve probably owned a GoPro or two for years.
GPS is back, the battery is bigger and there are upgrades for slow-motion capture and more, but the big news may be on the outside of the camera unit. A new family of modular lenses includes ultra-wide, anamorphic (unfortunately not ready for testing) and macro, as well as an ND (neutral density) filter four-pack. The camera sensor hasn’t changed much, though.
Concord players continue to be on the move
Sony and Firewalk Studios have stopped selling the PS5 and PC game and taken it offline this Friday, just two weeks after its launch. And yet, some people are still trying to unlock Concord’s platinum trophy. The most time-consuming trophy requires players to reach a reputation level of 100.
Some Concord players have discovered a way to speed up matches and gain XP faster: by repeatedly jumping out of the map and feigning their death. They seem to be doing this mainly in Rivalry, a mode in which players have only one life and cannot be resurrected.
Intel’s Core Ultra 200V chips aim to dominate AI PCs
The race to create the most exciting AI PC processors is on, and this time, it’s Intel’s turn to claim the top TOPs and more. In June, we learned that these Lunar Lake laptop chips will feature a powerful 48 TOPS (tera operations per second) neural processing unit for AI work, and, surprisingly, they’ll also offer up to 32GB of built-in memory for faster performance and lower power consumption. If you like numbers related to RAM, NPU, GPU, TOPS, and FLOPS, read on.
